These are all plants I have in my Northern California yard. The weather here is fairly mild with lows in the 30's in the winter with a few freezes throughout. Summers can get in the 100's. Check your zone before planting any of these in your area.
I love these flowering plants because they survive through the winter and most have a long blooming period.
1. Geranium - my neighbor gave me some clippings of this red Geranium, I stuck them in the ground and they grew! Doesn't get much easier than that.
